Chain link fencing in Qatar: choosing height, wire and finish

Chain link is the most common fence in Qatar for site boundaries, farms and sports courts. It is affordable, quick to install and lets air and light through.

Chain link fence buying guide

Pick the height

Roll heightGood for
1.5 mGardens, animal pens, low boundaries
1.8 mVillas, farms, general security
2.4 mConstruction sites, sports courts, higher security

Rolls are usually 22.5 m long. Divide your fence length by 22.5 to see how many rolls you need, and add a little for overlaps at corners and gates.

Pick the wire thickness

2 mm wire is lighter and cheaper, fine for gardens and temporary fencing. 3 mm wire is stiffer and harder to cut or bend, better for site boundaries and anywhere security matters.

Galvanised or PVC-coated?

Galvanised mesh has a zinc coating that resists rust. It is the standard, low-maintenance choice.

PVC-coated mesh (usually green) has a plastic layer over the galvanised wire. It lasts longer in salty or wet areas and blends in better around villas, parks and sports courts.

What else you need

  • Posts: galvanised round pipes or square hollow sections, typically every 2.5–3 m
  • Top rail or tension wire to keep the mesh tight along the top
  • Tie wire to fix the mesh to posts and rails
  • Gate frames made from hollow sections

We stock the pipes and hollow sections for posts and gates as well, so you can collect everything in one visit.
